'Wheelchair-bound' fraudster arraigned for 'falsely obtaining' N200k in Kaduna





A young man living with disability was recently arraigned for falsely obtaining N200,000 from someone in Kaduna state.

It was gathered that the man identified as Gabriel Chimezie, who operated under the alias Amadu Isah, was arraigned for defrauding someone of N200,000.

Despite being in a wheelchair, Chimezie was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today, July 27, 2017, at the Kaduna state High court.

He was charged with three counts of obtaining by false pretence.

Sharing the story on their official Facebook page, EFCC wrote:

"Serial Fraudster Arraigned

The EFCC today, July 27th, 2017 arraigned a serial fraudster, Gabriel Chimezie (AKA Amàdu Isah, Kabir Mohammed) before Honourable Justice Tukur Muazu of the Kaduna State High Court on a three count charge of Obtaining by False Pretence. The accused person allegedly obtained the sum of N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira Only) from the complainant under the guise that the money was for the facilitation of a contract for the supply of electrical installation equipment. Justice Muazu adjourned the matter to November 30th, 2017 for the commencement of trial."
