Report: Gabriel Jesus Rejects Lucrative New Manchester City Deal
Gabriel Jesus will apparently wait until the summer to discuss a new Manchester City contract after turning down a new deal.
The Daily Mail say Gabriel Jesus has rejected an offer of £90,000, with his representatives believing he is deserving of more than £100,000.
However, it is thought he still looks set to sign a one-year extension until 2023.
Manchester City felt Jesus was deserving of a hike following an encouraging start to life in England when they first proposed negotiations earlier in the season.
Jesus’ current deal runs until 2022 so there’s no major rush for a new contract to be signed and there’s no fears over the 20-year-old leaving the club this summer.
Though he has struggled with a knee issue in 2018, City are still keen to reward him for a fast start to life in English football and a compromise is set to be found between all parties once talks reopen in the summer months.
